the ideal candidate:

  • Qualified accountant [ACCA / CIMA or equivalent], or qualified by experience in a senior FP&A role
  • A highly organised and experienced FP&A professional with a strong track record of leading budgeting and forecasting processes end-to-end
  • Comfortable taking ownership of complex planning cycles, managing timelines, coordinating inputs and ensuring outputs are accurate, clear and delivered on time
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience interpreting complex data sets and turning analysis into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • Confident working independently in a temporary role, quickly building relationships and bringing structure, pace and control to planning processes
  • A collaborative communicator who can influence across finance, commercial and leadership teams

Scope of the role:

This is a temporary 6-month role reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance. The Head of Commercial Finance will provide oversight and direction, but the successful candidate will ideally take day-to-day ownership of the budgeting, forecasting and planning processes, bringing structure, control and momentum to key finance activities.

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes end-to-end, managing timelines, templates, stakeholder inputs, review meetings and final outputs
  • Work closely with the Head of Commercial Finance to ensure planning outputs are robust, clearly understood and aligned to business priorities
  • Partner with commercial, finance and leadership teams to gather assumptions, challenge inputs and translate business plans into clear financial forecasts
  • Own and improve planning models, templates and reporting packs, ensuring they are accurate, consistent, easy to use and fit for purpose
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing budgeting and forecasting processes, including better ways to capture assumptions, track changes and communicate outputs
  • Provide clear variance analysis, scenario modelling and insight to support decision-making across sales, margin, overheads, cashflow and wider business performance
  • Support ad hoc analysis and project work as required, helping the business understand performance, risks, opportunities and trade-offs
  • Bring strong organisation, attention to detail and proactive communication to ensure stakeholders know what is required, when it is required and how decisions will be made
